As governments have limited resources, time is ripe now for sub-national governments, including Karnali, to think about bringing in the private sector and partnering with them for creating environment for shared growth at local levels. There is a lack of land to set up an industry in Birendranagar. Then, there is the problem of regular and stable electricity supply in the region. I do not see the issue subsiding unless we invest in a 133 KV transmission line here. Surkhet airport is small and that limits the volume of flyers in and out of Surkhet.
We have held ourselves back by telling that Karnali is a remote area, which is not true. We have seen people from out of Karnali province are coming here and earning a decent income.
