Elected representatives of local levels completed their first tenure recently. New representatives were elected in the recent election held on 13 May 2022, and they have already started their term. After bringing the budget for the fiscal year 2017/18 to the fiscal year 2021/22, their tenure was completed. Newly elected public representatives already brought the budget for FY 2022/23.
Hriti Foundation has prepared the discussion paper based on the following concerns: How many budgets have been allocated to different areas, which areas have been prioritized, and which areas have not received priorities? What was the status of the recurrent budget and capital budget? What was the budget allocation trend of local government?
This study includes 16 local governments (11 rural and five municipalities) of Karnali province.
