Hriti Foundation Successfully Conducts Two-Day Training on Election Commitments and Misinformation Monitoring

Hriti Foundation, with the support of Digital Democracy Initiative and Purak Asia, successfully conducted a two-day training on Election Commitments and Misinformation Monitoring on 23 and 24 January 2026 at Birendranagar, Surkhet. The training was organized under the Youths for Accountable Democracy (YAD) initiative with the objective of strengthening the capacity of youth monitors to critically assess electoral commitments and respond sensibly to misinformation during the election period.

The training aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills to analyze political manifestos, evaluate the feasibility of electoral promises, utilize digital platforms for democratic monitoring, and identify and counter misinformation in an ethical and evidence-based manner.

The resource persons for the training were Umesh Shrestha, Suvekshya Chapagain, Dinesh Gautam, Prakash Adhikari, Suryamani Gautam, and Prakash Lamichhane. Participants of the training will serve as election monitors, responsible for tracking candidates’ election manifestos and identifying misinformation during the election period.
