Strengthening the Subnational Governance

Under the theme of Strengthening Federal Democracy by Improving Governance and Enabling markets, Hriti Foundation is currently conducting a project to enhance the capabilities of the provincial government in Karnali. Supported by CIPE, this initiative focuses on engaging a diverse range of stakeholders in the budget-making process, identifying challenges, and advocating for necessary reforms to ensure that provincial budgets effectively address local needs.
The project has two main objectives: first, to increase opportunities for citizens and the private sector to strengthen federalism by improving their access to information; and second, to build the capacity of grassroots actors to hold government officials and elected representatives accountable for reforms. Through these efforts, Hriti Foundation aims to foster a more responsive and accountable governance framework in Karnali.
