Exploring Liberal Legacies in Nepal

The “Exploring Liberal Legacies in Nepal” program by Hriti Foundation seeks to uncover and highlight the presence of liberal ideas in Nepal’s historical texts, religious scriptures, and social events. The project aims to demonstrate that liberal values such as individual liberty and economic independence are not solely Western concepts but have roots in Eastern traditions as well.
The project will produce and share research-based articles, along with podcasts and videos, via a dedicated website, ideas.hriti.org. It will also host discussion programs to engage youth and organize meetings with political, business, and bureaucratic leaders to further disseminate these ideas. By promoting liberal values within the context of Nepal’s history and literature, the project aims to foster debate, discussion, and a broader acceptance of these principles in society.
