May 3 – The Colloquium on the Eastern Perspective of Freedom concluded successfully in Birendranagar, Surkhet. Organized by Hriti Foundation with the support of Atlas Network, the Colloquium brought together youths of the Karnali province for an in-depth exploration of freedom through Eastern philosophical and historical lenses.
The colloquium included discussions on the fundamentals of sound public policy, the evolution of market economies in ancient Nepal, the process of economic liberalization in Nepal, the traditions of individual freedom in ancient Asia, property rights, the relationship between equality and freedom, the nature of government, individual rights, the power of markets, and entrepreneurship.
The sessions were moderated by leading scholars and practitioners: Akash Shrestha (Researcher), Deependra Chaulagain (Director of Operation and Outreach, Samriddhi Foundation), Dinesh Gautam (Executive Director, Hriti Foundation), and Laxmi Prasad Paudyal (Research Officer, Hriti Foundation), who provided rich insights and guided the discussions.
