Terms of Reference (TOR)

Hriti Foundation, is Karnali based organization on public policy, economic governance and federalism. To effectively manage and coordinate the activities of Hriti Foundation, we are seeking a qualified Program Associate to join our team.

Objectives:

The primary objective of this job is to provide program support to the ongoing project conducted by Hriti Foundation including Karnali Utsav.

Scope of Work

The Program Associate will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning program activities
  • Coordinate implementation of program activities
  • Monitor progress of activities: track milestones, collect data on outputs and outcomes, prepare status updates and flag risks/issues to the Program Manager or Executive Director.
  • Support preparation of knowledge products: assist in drafting program briefs, presentations, reports, infographics and other dissemination materials.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement: organize workshops, meetings, dialogues, consultations and other events; ensure logistics, documents and follow-up.
  • Ensure program compliance: support adherence to donor requirements, government compliance, internal policies, quality assurance, ethical standards and documentation
  • Support communications and advocacy: help social media posts, newsletters, website updates, and dissemination of program achievements to enhance visibility.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director or Program Manager to support implementation of Hriti Foundation’s programs.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Completed or Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (social sciences, management, development studies, public policy or similar).
  • Good understanding of program management, monitoring and evaluation, and familiarity with donor-funded projects would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders—government agencies, private sector actors, civil society, media—in the context of Karnali Province. Familiarity with Karnali Province context is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and familiar with basic data and document tracking tools.
  • Willingness to travel within Karnali Province and occasionally beyond, as required.
  • Age Group : Above 18 years and Below 30 years

Duration & Remuneration

The contract will be for an initial period of 12 months, with possibility of extension based on performance and available funding. Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience and prevailing market rates in Nepal.
