Hriti Foundation, is Karnali based organization on public policy, economic governance and federalism. To effectively manage and coordinate the activities of Hriti Foundation, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Research Officer to join our team.
Objectives:
The primary objective of this consultancy is to provide research support to the ongoing research project conducted by Hriti Foundation.
Scope of Work:
The Research Officer will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of research protocols, methodologies, and data collection instruments, ensuring alignment with project objectives and ethical standards.
- Conduct literature reviews, data collection, and fieldwork activities as per the research plan, including surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and observations.
- Compile, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate software and analytical techniques, under the supervision of the research expert.
- Support in the preparation of research reports, presentations, and other knowledge products, summarizing key findings, insights, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the project team to organize workshops, seminars, and stakeholder consultations to disseminate research findings and facilitate knowledge exchange.
- Provide inputs and feedback on research outputs, contributing to the refinement of research methodologies, conceptual frameworks, and analytical approaches.
- Ensure adherence to research ethics, data confidentiality, and quality assurance standards throughout the research process.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the research coordinator or executive director to support the successful implementation of research activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Research Officer position should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, management, development studies, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in conducting research projects.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including experience with data collection techniques, analysis methods, and software (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, R, Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality research reports, presentations, and publications.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with the context of Nepal, particularly the Karnali Province and Birendranagar, Surkhet, would be an advantage.
- Fluency in English and Nepali languages is required.
Duration and Remuneration:
The consultancy contract for the Research Officer will be for an initial period of 5 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and the prevailing market rates for similar positions in Nepal.
