The project Youth for Accountable Democracy (YAD) initiative, supported by Digital Democracy Initiative South Asia, aims to strengthen democratic accountability and promote meaningful youth participation in governance by documenting, monitoring, and reviewing election manifestos in Karnali Province. With the Government of Nepal scheduled to conduct elections in March 2026, the project responds to the common challenge of political commitments made during campaigns that are seldom tracked or revisited after elections. To address this gap, YAD will develop a Manifesto Dashboard—a digital platform that systematically compiles both written and verbal commitments made by political candidates, enabling transparent monitoring and public accountability.
In alignment with the project objectives, Hriti Foundation invites applications from motivated young people of Karnali Province to monitor and document election manifesto, and track misinformation through-out the electoral period. A total of 12 youth (one from each constituency) will be selected and provided with a two-day in-person training in Surkhet. Following the training, monitors will work from their current work stations/bases to systematically document, verify, and share political party and candidate manifesto commitments. The role requires commitment to ethical data collection, non-partisanship, and timely reporting.Eligibility Criteria
