The seventh edition of Karnali Utsav: Kuda Karnalika, a leading platform for dialogue and public discourse in Karnali Province, is set to take place from April 11 to 13 at the City Hall premises in Birendranagar.
Organized by Hriti Foundation, the three-day festival continues its legacy of fostering meaningful discussions on political, social, and economic issues. The previous six editions have established the Utsav as an important space for open dialogue in Nepal.
According to Executive Director Dinesh Gautam, this year’s program is thematically structured across three days. The first day will focus on economic issues, including development prospects and entrepreneurship in Karnali. The second day will center on environment and nature-related topics, including climate change and sustainability. The third day will feature discussions on contemporary politics and governance issues.
In addition to panel discussions, the festival will host “Paikelo” sessions, where inspiring stories of talented individuals from Karnali will be shared. The event will also include cultural and literary programs such as cultural evenings and Gajal performances.
Each day will feature keynote speeches by renowned speakers addressing pressing contemporary issues. The festival aims to strengthen the culture of open dialogue and contribute to informed discussions on public policy, governance, and economic development.
The event is expected to bring together policymakers, private sector representatives, civil society members, youth, and media professionals from across the region.
