Karnali Utsav ..Kuda Karnalika 7th Edition Concludes with Insightful Policy Dialogues

Surkhet — The 7th edition of Karnali Utsav: Kuda Karnalika concluded successfully after three days of engaging discussions, presentations, and cultural performances. Organized by Hriti Foundation, the festival has continued to evolve as a vibrant platform for dialogue, reflecting on Karnali’s geography, culture, development, and future potential.

The event featured a wide range of thematic sessions focusing on women’s leadership, the influence of the Gen-Z generation in politics and society, economic governance, infrastructure development, education, entrepreneurship, and environmentally sustainable growth. Discussions also highlighted indigenous knowledge systems, including the traditional healing practice of Sowa Rigpa.

On the first day, sessions such as “Women’s Leadership,” “Banking Investment in Karnali,” and “Mokshabhumi Karnali” set the tone for deeper conversations. Panel discussions like “Suina Karnalika” and “Gen-Z: From Streets to Parliament” brought forward contemporary socio-political perspectives.

The second day featured critical discussions on connectivity, education, and sustainable development through sessions like “Connecting Karnali,” “The Ups and Downs of Education,” and “Development and Environmental Balance.”

On the final day, sessions including “Mahila Mukhiya,” “Exploring Karnali,” and “Traditional Healing Practices” emphasized local governance, tourism, and the importance of indigenous practices. Inspiring stories of individuals who have made significant contributions to society were also shared.

The festival also showcased literary and musical performances, including the much-anticipated Karnali Concert, adding cultural vibrancy to the event.

Speakers emphasized the need for effective policymaking, better resource mobilization, infrastructure development, strengthened women’s leadership, and environmentally responsible growth to ensure Karnali’s inclusive and sustainable development.
