Interaction program on challanges of subnational goverments

Hriti Foundation, in partnership with Kathmandu University’s KUSOM Policy Lab and GIZ Nepal, has carried out research to Identify the key challenges faced by Sub-National Governments in, Nepal. The major areas of analysis are capacity building, resource allocation, and service delivery.

For the research purpose, an interaction program with the stakeholders was held in Birendranagar, Surkhet on August 11. The interaction program was facilitated by Mr. Dinesh Gautam, Executive Director of the Hriti Foundation. During the program, the lead researcher Dr. Dipesh Ghimire made a slide presentation regarding the federal mode of the governance system while Yadav Ojha from the GIZ shared the objective of the research. The program was chaired by Mr. Kamal Lamsal, President of the Hriti Foundation.

Members from the Karnali province assembly, other political and social leaders, representatives from civil societies, and private sectors were present at the program. Most of the participants provided valuable comments and feedback for the research.
