Hriti Foundation has submitted its key recommendations to the Karnali Province Government for the upcoming policy and programme and the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83. These recommendations are based on research, policy dialogues, and consultations conducted throughout the year, including insights from the annual public policy festival Karnali Utsav.
The recommendation document was officially handed over to the Hon. Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kandel. The recommendations were also presented during the Pre-Budget Discussion Program organized by the Hriti Foundation, which brought together more than 30 diverse stakeholders, including representatives from the private sector, academia, youth, and civil society organizations. The program was graced by the presence of key provincial leaders, including Hon. Rajeev Bikram Shah, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning; Hon. Purna Bahadur Khatri, Chairperson of the Social Development Committee of the Karnali Provincial Assembly; and Hon. Suryanath Yogi, Vice Chairperson of the Karnali Province Planning Commission.
In addition to sharing the recommendations with the Chief Minister, the document has also been sent to all ministries of the Karnali Province Government.
Through these efforts, Hriti Foundation continues to support participatory and evidence-based policymaking in Karnali Province by promoting inclusive dialogue and engaging with a wide range of actors at the subnational level.
