An interaction program was organized on “Employment Strategy of Birendranagar Municipality with a Focus on Promoting Internal Employment” on June 16 at Birendranagar Municipality. The interaction was a key step toward finalizing a strategy aimed at enhancing local employment opportunities, especially for youth.
The employment strategy of Birendranagar Municipality is currently being prepared by Hriti Foundation. The interaction was organized by the Municipality and facilitated by the Hriti Foundation.
During the event, Mr. Dinesh Gautam, Executive Director of Hriti Foundation, presented the initial draft of the strategy along with findings from a resource mapping of internal employment opportunities. The presentation included key data, analysis, and recommendations to strengthen employment generation in Birendranagar Municipality.
A constructive discussion followed, with active participation from Mayor Mohanmaya Dhakal, ward chairs, municipal executive members, sectional heads, and various stakeholders from the municipality.
Speaking at the program, Mayor Dhakal emphasized the importance of leveraging technology and enhancing technical skills among youth to create sustainable and dignified employment within the city. Other participants echoed the need to align the employment strategy with local potential, vocational training, and market demands.
