• Two schools in Limi village of Namkha Rural Municipality have not received textbooks yet even weeks after the new academic session began. Read More 

• Schools in the northern part of Mugu district are closed as students and parents have headed to the highlands for the annual collection of Yarsagumba, highly prized caterpillar fungi for their medicinal value. Read More

• Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the budget for the upcoming fiscal year would be allocated by keeping Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Madhes, the provinces which are backward in terms of Human Development Index (HDI) at the center. Read More

• The economic growth of Karnali is expected to be 1.9 percent in the ongoing fiscal 2022-23. Publishing the province-level accounting report, the National Statistics Office has projected the contribution of Karnali Province to the total GDP is estimated at 4 percent (Rs 221 billion). According to the data the per capita income of Karnali is estimated $997 in the current fiscal year which is the lowest among other provinces. Read More

• Karnali province government has spent 31 percent of the budget in 10 months. According to the Province Controller of Accounts Office, 31.22 percent of the budget has been spent up to the second week of May of the current fiscal year 2022/23. Out of which, 38.82 percent of the recurrent budget and 26.15 percent of the capital budget have been spent. Read More

• The export of herbs from the Humla district has decreased since July. Compared to last year, it has been found that the amount of herbs exported from the district has decreased by more than 300 percent. The amount of herbs exported from the district since July of this fiscal year is 149.68 quintals. Read More

• The second session of the second term of the Karnali Provincial Assembly started on 24th May. In this session, which is known as the budget session, the policy and program of the upcoming fiscal year and the budget will be presented to the parliament. Read More
