- The third session of the Karnali Provincial Assembly started on the 13th of March. The third session commenced more than five months after the second session ended due to political disputes.
- Public pressure has mounted on the Karnali province government to enact provincial transportation laws. A draft bill has been submitted to the Council of Ministers to modernize and ensure the punctuality of public transport services through technology integration.
- The “Bill to make arrangements for the promotion, empowerment, and development of Dalit rights,” drafted five years ago, has yet to be registered in the Karnali Provincial Assembly.
- Public schools are turning empty in Karnali Province. More than 30 percent of schools are struggling with low enrolment. Poor teaching at the schools prompts parents to send wards to private schools.
- Of the 718 wards across 79 local levels in Karnali province, 637 are in rural areas, while 75 cities and six wards are classified as urban areas.
